Grateful and Appreciative
There was once I saw in a Discovery magazine, they took pictures of families from different countries and the food each family consume in one week. One picture per family, all the food was displayed on the table or chairs around them and they took the picture. It was interesting to see how each family/country has their own preference and distinctive difference.
For americans - a few bottles of coke per week, cheese, bread, as usual, for middle eastern family, rice, meat...etc, for chinese, suprisingly mostly vegetable and rice, so little meat. As I read through the pages, I was imagining myself in the way they live and eat.
As I flipping and reading, when I reach the last page, it was a picture of a family in africa, I was in disbelief seeing how little it was displayed. With a family of one mother, two teenagers, 3 small kids, the food for one week is only two half full packets of beans or flour (size of the small rice pack sold in kedai runcit), 10 small packets of dried food (ikan bilis, dried chili,beans,...) and half ounce of water bottle. That's ALL !
For us, we can go out at anytime, anywhere to get food, not just food, but good food; not just good food, but cheap food; not just get full, but more than enough; not just more than enough but throw them away..... They don't even have meat, we can eat KFC and emperor chicken anytime as much as we want.
I'm now starting to appreciate all that I have, especially food, makan makan !

Surprise Farewell Party for Esther
My very goodie goodie good friend cum sister in Christ cum partner in singing, sakai-ing, shopping, plus so many other things was leaving the country to UK for her study on the Friday before last week...... sob, sob...... (Esther, if you're reading this, i miss you leh....)
Back to the story, so, we were planning to have this surprise farewell party for her around a month ago, which she was hoping for a party but finally gave up the hope thinking we were not gona do it anyway. We pakat-ed with her mum, Auntie Elisa to make her into giving up hope too, hehe =P and also to bring her out of the house, giving us the time to prepare and decorate the house.
So, on the day itself, she was out with the parents to Kuantan for the lekor there (which was such a lame reason to get her out, right Esther ? haha), and we went to her house around 2pm, prepare some food, balloons, the banner and the gift book/farewell gift. All was done and we got the news that they will be back around 7sumthing. Uncle John came around 6pm (i think) and we were so excited bout the whole thing, we ended up with so many trial rounds of suprising her when she came in the house, we planned to turn off all the lights in the living hall, leaving the kitchen lights on with all her other siblings and cousins cooking and making dinner there. At the back of our minds, i think we were trying our best and thinking of ways how to scare her from the dark and surprise her, hahaha!
3 of us - mel, cherrie and me, who was always with cameras, placed our cameras at different angles and put on video mode in order to capture the suprise moment in the dark, hehe, for mine i have placed it facing the sliding door which Esther came in from outside and ofcuz with all her surprised look and actions, haha! =P
uploaded here with subtitles for better picture of the whole scene, do turn on your speakers and listen to all the funny stuff we said during that intense moment and excitement! Enjoy!

Russell from UP
Have you seen the movie UP? I have, and it was a nice movie I would say =)
It was about this boy who grew up not chasing after the dreams he had while he was young, then finally going after it when he is now an old old man, and bumped into this talkative young boy Russell just right before flying off to his dream.
And I had a this friend, Jun Meng, who looks like Russell ^_^
